Introducing Upgraded Whey™ Protein Powder

April 26, 2012 · 23 comments

More than a dozen years of using whey, plus three years of searching for ingredients and testing different formulas has created the most powerful whey protein powder in existence: Upgraded Whey.  It gets rave reviews from everyone who tries it.

Made from the finest, minimally processed, whey protein concentrate made from raw grass-fed cow’s milk concentrate, Upgraded Whey is the perfect blend of nutritionally complete all natural protein.  Power packed with the complete spectrum of amino acids, this is designed to help your body be more resilient and make a faster recovery.  Upgraded Whey also contains coconut MCT powder to boost energy levels and keep you going strong.  Upgraded Whey is fortified to contain a higher level of immune supporting, muscle building bioactive compounds than any other whey.

As you’ll soon learn, Upgraded Whey is also more effective at boosting glutathione levels than any other whey protein powder.

Best of all, it has a very mild flavor and mixes easily with water.

The Bulletproof Executive is a labor of love, put together to share my own massive transformative experiences. We sell a few products – ones formulated by me personally for my own use because I could not buy them elsewhere – and to defray the cost of the site. (It’s surprisingly expensive to run one of the top 25,000 websites in the US!).

Click here to learn more about Upgraded Whey Protein Powder. It’s the best I know how to make.

Hey Dave – I hate to bug you on the blog, but I am getting nowhere with customer service on the upgraded self site. I ordered MCT Oil a month ago and never received it. (I got the rest of my order). I’ve sent in two inquiries through the “contact us” form with no response. Can you help?

    • Ahmed

      Lisa,

I’m not Dave, but if you’re outside the US then it usually takes a while to receive your order, I had to wait about a month to receive mine too.

      • Lisa K. Stahley

I’m in the US and I received the rest of my order. Guess I’ll try to stay patient.

    • Archayts

Lisa, I ordered some items at the start of this month from upgraded self and only received shipped confirmation yesterday. Apparently some items have been on backorder which is the cause of the delay.

      • Dave Asprey

You should have received a notification of any delay, but it looks like our process for notification didn’t work. I’m really sorry about this. There was a short delay receiving our latest order of Upgraded Whey from our packaging partners, but all is well now.

        • Lisa K. Stahley

Is this the case with the MCT Oil as well? And while it would be nice to be notified of delays, I’m more concerned that repeated requests to customer service were not answered.

        • Dave Asprey

Lisa, there’s no excuse for that. My standards are way higher for customer support. For what it’s worth, here’s what happened. We migrated our email to a better server, and for a short time some support emails didn’t get forwarded properly. You reached us during that time. We have a live person who answers emails to support every day, and we don’t let support go answered. At least we don’t if we know we are getting them. ? This will not happen again.

        • Archayts

Just for completeness, I learned about the delay by emailing Aaron whose email I had since he had previously contacted me to refund part of my order (did not ship coffe to Aus at that time) and always got a prompt reply, I didn’t use the contact form on the site.

        • Jayt

I can’t agree with you here Dave. I have sent two emails a week apart and neither were responded to. Still waiting on the coffee and no notifications what so ever…just crickets :) Sent an email again today, so hopefully they got this one.

    • Jayt

Lisa, you are not alone, unfortunately. I placed my first order of MCT oil and coffee three weeks ago. Never received the coffee. Have been emailing through “contact us” every week to get any type of response, but nothing yet.

      • Dave Asprey

        Jayt,
I’m embarrassed about this. Investigating now. Will make this right, right away.

        • Jayt

Thanks Dave. My order for coffee was somehow missed and my emails weren’t getting through. They made it right and sent it two day air. Had my first cup of “REAL” bulletproof coffee. I say real, because even though I have tried to get the best beans in town, your Bulletproof Coffee is the best I have ever had making most other coffees crap. Sorry for the word there, but I feel I’ve been lied to every time I’ve spent $18/lb for what was supposed to be “great” coffee. Now I know. Thanks again. I’ll be ordering my coffee in your 5lb bag from now on so I always have plenty at home. Life’s too short to drink bad coffee.

        • Dave Asprey

Jayt, thanks for your kind words, and again sorry for the shipping delay. It doesn’t happen very often, but uf it does, we do our best to make it right.
Great coffee is just amazing! ;)

    Best protein out there.
After using it for a week it was clear this is the only whey I’ll ever buy again.
Thanks for the awesome products, Dave!

    • Dave Asprey

Thank you Trevor! It took a while to come up with this formula, but it’s a good one if I do say so myself. ?

UK Shipping makes this product too expensive. I’ll just buy a Pure high quality Whey and MTC Oils seperately…

    Big let down.

    • Dave Asprey

Hoping to have uk distributors soon. The whey you’re getting may not be very good for you. Purity isn’t the problem, it’s stomach irritation and absorbability.

Any update on UK distribution? I’m in the same boat, would be great to have access to your products without such a large shipping overhead.

Hey Dave, I have been following some of your supplementation advice with sleep (and I am sleeping less and feeling equally energetic). A lot of the helpful supplements appear to be beneficial because they increase growth hormone levels while sleeping. I’ve read a few studies regarding growth hormone and IGF-1, and it appears likely to me that extra growth hormone may cause you to age faster (although the studies are not conclusive by any means). What’s your opinion? Should I consider nixing the sleep supplements, or am I missing something? In regard to the whey protein, do you know of any studies that address whether muscle hypertrophy causes aging? I know you have researched anti-aging in depth and are well-known in that community. Thanks.

Ordered some whey, coffee and MCT oil on the 4th and all arrived yesterday (the 9th). I haven’t used any protein powder in a while so will be giving it a try after CrossFit workouts I do 3 times a week. I’m still trying to get rid of my last bit of fat so may be trying the rapid weight loss “fat fast” but I do realise that I probably shouldn’t be doing that and trying to do CrossFit WoDs.

So I recently gave Upgraded Whey a try after going through several big name brand proteins, Optimum Nutrition, Progenex, NOW, BSN etc and I have to say this stuff has been pretty great so far, almost finished my first 2lb bag. The reason I found it is because I was searching for a more natural protein because as an athlete I only want to put the best ingredients in my body. Upgraded whey seemed to have a very pure list of ingredients so I gave it a shot and love it. The flavor is minimal and it mixes great in just water. I usually take 2 servings in the morning with a fruit smoothie and post workout i’ll have 2 servings with dextrose powder and water. I know the price seems a little high compared to others but knowing what effort was put into this stuff I can understand how it is more expensive than your traditional whey protein you would find at Wal-Mart. I look at it as money well spent because you pay for what you get and with Upgraded Whey you get a high quality protein source that comes from grass fed cows with a few extra ingredients. (that’s why they call it upgraded whey!!) Anyways, I hope you guys give it a try because you won’t be disapointed!

Hi Dave, any update on the UK distribution? I’d love to try the Upgraded Whey as well as the Bulletproof Coffee, but the UK delivery cost just makes it too expensive. I’m all for paying a little extra for an excellent product, but the UK international delivery charge is almost as much as the product itself! Hope you’ve got some good news!

    Dave,
I heard Dr. Bernd Friedlander say that people who use whey protein will eventually develop thyroid issues. Do you think that could be a risk with long term use?
